If we were Strolling Together (4)

Hello my friend and welcome once again. How lovely that you took the time out to meet me. Let’s first go grab something to drink…it’s late afternoon and the sun is still showcasing its might! And let’s find a shady patch where we can walk, without having to squint or cover our eyes!

I have to admit that I will miss the sun when I go to Edinburgh! Though I am looking forward to the experience, I will miss too many things about India…I have spent all my life here and suddenly, everything will change! It’s an intimidating feeling…

Talking of Edinburgh I have to tell you about the innumerable wishes that have been coming my way! There are so many who wish me well, and I consider that my biggest strength! Blessings of many have carried me this far and I hope I can make everyone proud 🙂

I finally finished reading the book Mrutyunjay (Conqueror of Death). Authored by Shivaji Savant in Marathi, this translated version is something I had been wanting to read for the longest times! This is an account of the entire Mahabharat through Karna’s eyes. I have to admit that it is a poor translation and they could have done better. I can almost imagine the beauty of certain parts of the book, the way it would have sounded in Marathi! But the translators have tried to stick to every word and hence some bits sound hilarious and completely out of place (if you know what I mean)! I wish my Marathi were good enough that I could read the book and absorb in all its purity the world the author created! But the content was quite captivating…so I am grateful for that! And this book has the most subtle, intricately interwoven philosophy which makes it more powerful! The X-factor is that for someone reading the book, at first glance, it is merely a story. Only when you read between the lines, you find the philosophy. So you get what you look for, literally!

I then also have to tell you about all the wonderful things that have been happening in alternate worlds that are part of me now…worlds of others that are virtually connected to mine, courtesy the blog! My happiness on learning about the kids’ arrival at Melissa’s farm, my sadness on reading the countless posts about the Orlando issue (kudos to the bloggers out there…we all stand united!), my delight at meeting several new bloggers that write so well, my love for Paul’s photography, my envy for Bushka’s way with words, my obsession with blog stats…

And finally, last week , I thought the blog deserves a new look. It has been wearing the same outfit for way too long. So I went ahead and changed the theme for my blog and it looks fresh and inviting all over again! Do you like the theme I have used for the blog? I must say I’m quite happy with the themes on WordPress….they are fun, creative, attractive, smart! What do you think?
