Hello my friend and welcome once again. How lovely that you took the time out to meet me. Let’s first go grab something to drink…it’s late afternoon and the sun is still showcasing its might! And let’s find a shady patch where we can walk, without having to squint or cover our eyes!
I have to admit that I will miss the sun when I go to Edinburgh! Though I am looking forward to the experience, I will miss too many things about India…I have spent all my life here and suddenly, everything will change! It’s an intimidating feeling…
Talking of Edinburgh I have to tell you about the innumerable wishes that have been coming my way! There are so many who wish me well, and I consider that my biggest strength! Blessings of many have carried me this far and I hope I can make everyone proud π
I finally finished reading the book Mrutyunjay (Conqueror of Death). Authored by Shivaji Savant in Marathi, this translated version is something I had been wanting to read for the longest times! This is an account of the entire Mahabharat through Karna’s eyes. I have to admit that it is a poor translation and they could have done better. I can almost imagine the beauty of certain parts of the book, the way it would have sounded in Marathi! But the translators have tried to stick to every word and hence some bits sound hilarious and completely out of place (if you know what I mean)! I wish my Marathi were good enough that I could read the book and absorb in all its purity the world the author created! But the content was quite captivating…so I am grateful for that! And this book has the most subtle, intricately interwoven philosophy which makes it more powerful! The X-factor is that for someone reading the book, at first glance, it is merely a story. Only when you read between the lines, you find the philosophy. So you get what you look for, literally!
I then also have to tell you about all the wonderful things that have been happening in alternate worlds that are part of me now…worlds of others that are virtually connected to mine, courtesy the blog! My happiness on learning about the kids’ arrival at Melissa’s farm, my sadness on reading the countless posts about the Orlando issue (kudos to the bloggers out there…we all stand united!), my delight at meeting several new bloggers that write so well, my love for Paul’s photography, my envy for Bushka’s way with words, my obsession with blog stats…
And finally, last week , I thought the blog deserves a new look. It has been wearing the same outfit for way too long. So I went ahead and changed the theme for my blog and it looks fresh and inviting all over again! Do you like the theme I have used for the blog? I must say I’m quite happy with the themes on WordPress….they are fun, creative, attractive, smart! What do you think?
Ah, I’ve talked too much… How have you been? I hope you have had a good time and lots of positive energy in your life.
See you soon….
Beautiful stroll π happy to see you are doing well my dear. I do like the new face of the blog very much π
Sending you hugs and smiles!

You are enjoying something that only the internet can give us, a broad world view. I enjoy it too. I have met people from all over the world. I have argued with some, and congratulated others. You, my dear, are a delight to have met. You seem so open to the beauty of the world and so full of compassion. I’m at least twice your age, and it’s nice to see that someone will continue the tradition of hope.

Thank you so much for joining me on this stroll… The weather did get better and the sun was less harsh on us by the time we finished talking, wasn’t it? π
Well I have to admit that I started posting these as fillers for when I had writing blocks. But the way people responded to these posts made me realize that catching up with my everyday life was as exciting for everyone as it was for me! So the strolls continue to happen π

Ah thank you so much π Yes, my blog will continue to flourish even through my time in Edinburgh. Of course, there will be fewer posts till I settle down nicely in a cozy house but otherwise, there shouldn’t be any hitches π
Mrutyunjay, yes that’s a fantastic book. Do you speak/read marathi? If yes, I would definitely recommend reading it in its original form. Otherwise, sadly you will be left with no choice, just as I and you might have to read the poorly translated English version (but I’m sure you can pick out the nuances nevertheless!) :)Enjoy reading and do let me know how you find the book…Cheers!

Yes I know to read and speak Marathi hence excited for the same, as I have heard about this book from my mom and teachers as well. It’s an experience to feel and visualise they said.
Yes surely will tell you about it once I complete. On this very post itself so that we don’t loose the link π π
Once again happy journey. Do make the blog more attractive through your Edinburgh stories. Tc. Safe journey

Moving from India to Edinburgh has to be a huge change. I would probably never be brave enough to do something like that!
I actually have a nephew who is planning to move to India and start a company there. He vacationed there, has classmates from there, and I guess he must have feel in love with the country. My brother & his wife are not particularly thrilled. It’s an awful long way away!

And your nephew will love this country I’m sure.. It’s beautiful! Do wish him the best of luck on my behalf.. It is very far away and I can understand what the parents must go throug…I wish they find the strength to get through this. Thank you Judy for joining me on this stroll and for your lovely words as always π
