Wow…there’s so much to tell you guys. It feels like forever since we took the last stroll together. or maybe it’s just that I have been busy doing so much that it feel so!
Either ways, welcome to my blog today. I hope you are all had a great week and are looking forward to/already started having a nice weekend. This time zone thing is confusing! While some people are just finishing a hard day at work, others are enjoying a warm cup of coffee on a rainy Saturday morning! Strange, isn’t it?
I have been doing quite a bit. Prima facie it would seem like I am taking a break (for those who don’t know, I am moving to Edinburgh to pursue my PhD and will fly away in September for that. So I have quit from work and am enjoying 2 months at home with my parents for now!) but honestly, there’s a lot happening anyways.
For one, there’s the huge amount of documentation in preparation for the visa application. Then there’s the medical tests that I wanted to do before I left the country, just to ensure my body is functioning fine. Lots of cleaning up, giving away old things, meeting friends, scheduling more meetings to catch up with friends. And the occasional work on my previous bits of data…rearranging and looking through what I need and what I don’t.
Well, my rants would continue forever if I let them. So I am going to stop now and talk about the other stuff.
Just heard from Spence’s Girl that I’ve been nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award. Another Award in my kitty. You could’ve witnessed my toothy smile if you had been here. I’m elated. While I’m yet to figure out what the award is all about and what I have to do about it now, let me take a moment to thank Spence’s Girl for thinking of me while doing the nominations. My next post would most likely be about the award. DO check out her space, if you haven’t already.
Apart from the lot of ‘work’ I talked about, I have been busy eating and getting fat 😀 Spending time at home does do tat to me. After 6 years, I’m getting to spend more than just a week at home at a stretch so I’m making use of this break wisely. I don’t have to eat the product of my sloppy cooking for a while, my mom does all of it and feeds me yummy things every meal! If I were an avid user of the social media, I’d say #yummyinmytummy but I’m not one!
I also have to tell you about the hot and humid state of the city right now. We need rains!! We really do. This part of India is gloomy and sad right now. 😦 I’m not enjoying the weather too much plus all the struggle with my curly hair because of the built up humidity just adds to the irritation! 😛
Every evening is about scrolling between news channels and watching Pro Kabaddi League. Now if you are raising eyebrows upon reading the word Kabaddi, you better click here. It’s not a great article but it will do well in giving you a background of the sport. It’s become one of my most favourite sports these days. I’m really enjoying watching it on television 🙂
I haven’t read a book since Mrutyunjay and it’s high time I pick up another one. I looked through the shelves to find one in my father’s collection – Mario Puzo’s The Fourth K! I can’t wait to start that. The yellowed pages show how old the book is and the smell is addictive! All yellow pages smell the same, don’t they? They all smell awesome! The book and some green tea is going to keep me busy the whole of the coming week.
Owing to all that I have to do during the day (honestly, while I am doing a lot, I can’t keep proper track of all that I am doing. At the end of the day, it feels like the day just passed by me!), I’m making it lesser to this space these days. So if I haven’t been visiting your blog as often as I used to, cut me some slack. I promise to get back on schedule ASAP.
Before I leave you, I have to thank you for joining me on the stroll. And also for the love and encouragement you have shown towards the new category of Tiny Tale. It’s heart warming to see my efforts appreciated by all of you and I only want to write more of those tiny tales. I promise many more of those in the near future (I think I am in the phase where I want to write more and more of those)! A special thanks to Ann who contributed two beautiful tiny tales through her comment on my post. So scroll through to the comments to read her excellent stories.
With that, I should stop talking. I need something warm to drink…my voice is already throaty from all that blabbering.
Which book are you reading now? What is it that keeps you busy? Do write to me in the comments section below.
Cheers.
Currently reading “Rebecca” by Daphne du Maurier… have heard and read a lot about this book! Looking forward to finishing it… Happy Weekend to you and your family!:-) 🙂

That’s true isn’t it! But he always wrote in this fixed space. I wish he explored a little more in his writing!

True indeed …ya the pattern was somewhat fixed. Hence now I’m going with other author after completing many of his series..

Oh good. I do that too, all the time. Especially when I’m reading the famous authors like Dan Brown, Jeffery Archer, Sheldon, Arthur Hailey, John Grisham, etc…they all have their areas of comfort where they produce the best of stories but for a reader, it gets monotonous if you stick to one author at a time and go on reading their work!
Looking forward to seeing what you pick up next. Cheers!

I’m reading a Japanese thriller (translated) by Keigo Higashino.
You’ve to wrap up so many things before leaving the country, it’s a task, almost! Spend time with your parents and eat mom-made-food…you’re gonna miss them soon… 🙂
Congrats on your PhD project…all the best. 🙂 …
