Tough times have engulfed me and many others around me. While it is not the end of the world, riding the wave is a bit tricky because of how things are right now. And I was talking to my father about these things the other day…
I often have quoted things said by the so called ‘greats’ of the world. But today, I want to take a second and reflect on what my father said to me.
“It is always wiser to swim with the current until one is really ready to swim against it. It should not be considered a weakness.” – Pa
And that’s the best advice I have gotten in a long long time. So here I am – swimming with the current and waiting for things to calm down, conserving my energy to leap forward when the time is right.
I hope all is well with you. But if things are going south, as they sometimes do, perhaps you can consider swimming with the current too?
Such a meaningful piece of advice from your father! π

I love how your father said it. So nicely put. Stay back and observe while improving yourself, and when you are ready, then go for it. Hope things get better for you soon. Currently Iβm also swimming with the current and keeping a lookout on what opportunities may strike. Itβs not a bad thing β sitting back, watch the tide and waves, and relax π

That’s true, sitting back and taking things as they come may not be a bad thing to do after all! I hope things get better for you too M! π

I do believe that there are several quotes available in the world, sometime conflicting too. It depends on our situation to accept and apply those quotes. Good post.

What wonderful advice! So many times we find ourselves struggling when we could make it easier. I’ve been swimming against the current for so long, I think it’s time for a change. Thank you for sharing β€οΈ

Oh Dorinda! I’m so glad it resonated with you too! I’ve been swimming against the current for a very long time myself and I suppose this advice has changed the way I see things and I feel more comfortable conserving my energy for the right times that await. I hope things change for the better for you too π

Your Pa is absolutely right. Additionally, when your time is bad even your jokes are noticed as mistakes.

I do believe that sometimes you just have to go with the flow. Mind you it’s not about giving up or letting things happen. Its about wakeup trust and collaboration with what is showing up for you. Wishing you good days ahead !

Great advice from your father. Sometimes, itβs the best thing to do. At times, it is foolish to swim against the tide.
