Brotherhood of the World Award!

I got nominated for this lovely award by Swapna at The Dreamgirl Writes. She is “…a free-spirited girl who writes what her heart says!” Her blog is a nice space with some poetry and a lot of ‘random thoughts’as she categorises them! Do visit her space for more.

I love receiving blogging awards for two reasons – first, it is nice to know that someone thinks of my blog and space as worthy enough and second, it gives me an opportunity to answer a few questions about myself so thus share a bit more of my life!

Here are my answers to Swapna’s questions…

1. What motivates you to write?

I started out my journey as a writer pretty much as a kid, when I started writing my diary. Eventually I started freelancing and writing for others. And I was ghost writing all these novels at some point and thought that I need to give myself a platform and put my name on things for a change! That’s how this blog started. What keeps me going is the many beautiful experiences I gain by way of meeting people, making friends and observing things around me. My experiences are my biggest wealth and that’s where I draw all my content from!

2. How did you come up with your blog name?

Now that’s not much of a guess at all in my case, is it? My blog is by my name. The reason I started writing here is so I could put my name on my content for a change…and so it made sense to me that I have my name as the name of the blog too.

3. What is your favourite thing about blogging?

Honestly, blogging has given me a whole new perspective about things. I realise that there are many many people out there with creative outlets but not lucky enough to pursue these creative outlets as careers. And they all spend time honing their skills on this platform. These are people that did not give up on their passions and continued to explore that part of their personalities here…and meeting this extremely creative bunch of individuals, albeit online, has been a tremendous and a completely unexpected return!!

4. Books or Movies? What genre?

Uhh! Both! I really cannot pick. I am an avid reader and I love books. But I also appreciate the power of visual medium and watch many many movies! Genre….from crime to fiction to drama to comedy, I’m up for anything as long as it is well done! 🙂

5. What do you think when you look into the mirror?

I see a beautiful, confident woman with lovely eyes that guard her soul and a beautiful smile that guards her secrets.
